Frequently asked questions
Can you take on my aged care Referrals or SAH Clients?
Yes, absolutely. Coastal Care Transport is fully set up to support My Aged Care referrals, Home Care Package clients, and Short‑Term Restorative Care / Support at Home (STRC/SAH) clients. This must be done through your provider first. I work closely with case managers, coordinators and providers to make sure each client receives safe, friendly and reliable transport with gentle assistance from door to door.
If you’re a provider looking for dependable transport support for your clients, I’m ready to help.
Do you help with Shopping and errands?
Yes, I do. Coastal Care Transport offers friendly, supportive transport for shopping trips, errands and everyday tasks. Whether you need to pick up groceries, collect prescriptions, visit the post office or browse the shops, I’m here to make the outing easy and enjoyable.
I can assist you from your front door into the store, help with bags, and make sure you feel confident and supported throughout your trip. When you’re finished, I’ll help you back to the car and take you home safely.
How much does it cost?
Every journey is quoted individually so you only pay for the time and distance you actually need. Your quote includes my travel time, your trip, and 30 minutes (Doctors) or 45 - 50 minutes (Hospital) of waiting time for return journeys. Because every appointment is different, your final price is based on the length of your visit. If the appointment runs over the 30 or 45- 50 minutes, there may be an extra cost.
You’ll always receive a clear estimated quote before your booking is confirmed, so you know exactly what to expect.
How Much Notice Do You Need?
I always do my best to accommodate your preferred time, and the more notice you can give, the better. For medical appointments, shopping trips or social outings, booking a few days ahead helps ensure your spot is reserved. If something comes up unexpectedly, I’ll always try to fit you in wherever possible.
Regular bookings can also be scheduled in advance so your transport is guaranteed each week.
Can you accompany me into my appointments?
Yes, absolutely. Coastal Care Transport provides gentle, supportive assistance from your front door right into your appointment. I can help you check in, settle comfortably, and make sure you feel confident and safe before we step in to see the doctor if needed, your return journey also includes 30 minutes of waiting time, giving you plenty of flexibility.
If you need a little extra support, just let me know — I’m here to help.
Can you take on NDIS clients?
Coastal Care Transport can support NDIS clients.
✅ Self‑Managed NDIS Clients
You can book us directly, pay directly to me and then you can claim the cost back through your NDIS portal.
✅ Plan‑Managed NDIS Clients
Coastal Care Transport can invoice your plan manager after the trip.
Can I book a regular trip?
Yes, you can. Many clients choose to book regular weekly or fortnightly or monthly trips for medical appointments, shopping, social activities or routine errands. Having a set schedule makes things easier and ensures your preferred times are always reserved for you.
Whether it’s the same appointment each week or a repeating outing you enjoy, I’m happy to organise a regular booking so you always have reliable, friendly transport when you need it.
Do you take someone who has a wheelchair?
No, I do not operate a wheelchair accessible vehicle. I am able to accommodate wheelie walkers and other aids.
Are you qualified to administer first aid?
Yes. I hold current First Aid and CPR training, which includes the safe use of an AED (defibrillator). If an emergency ever occurs during a journey, I’m trained to respond calmly, confidently and in line with recognised safety procedures while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
Your safety is always my priority.
